I thought here in the States we also measure the alcoholic content of beer by volume? Beer labels have 5.5% a.b.v., for example, not a.b.w. I’m no beer professional, I’m just wondering. Regardless, you guys do a great job. Besides, I don’t consider k.a.f. a “reference” source. I love kickassfacts.com. Thanks!

  2. Steve says:

Two things: 1 Not all beer is made with honey and 2 Not all Guinness is actually made in Ireland.

  3. Dillon says:

Beer is not made with “malt and honey” it is made with barley and hops. Malted barley, hops, yeast and water define beer. Without those ingredients it can not be called beer. “Malt and honey” DO contribute to higher alcohol content by contributing fermentable sugars. I’ve been home brewing for 9 years.
