#3 is confusing to me. Floating trees? How does one supposed to read this photo?
I guess the treetops that are strung up would trick enemy soldiers and aircraft into thinking that there is no road but a forest. It is similar to how you can sometimes tell where a lake or pond would be while hiking because there are no treetops in an area.
I was thinking the same thing. I had no idea at what I was looking.
