Here are this week’s Life Pro Tips.
1. If you have a good manager you probably don’t realize how often they go to bat for you. If you get a raise or promotion that isn’t as good as you wanted show appreciation anyway. He/she probably tried to get you more and they had to fight just to get you what they presented to you.
2. A Word or any Office file is a zip in disguise.
Just rename your file from .docx to .zip and open it. You will get a folder of all the stuff inside the doc, like all the images and some crazy XML content. This saves a lot of time. All of the Office files that end with ‘x’ (.DOCx, .PPTx, .XLSx) are built on an XML foundation and can be opened that way. If you get an older file (.doc) just open in Word and “save as” a docx file to get an unzippable file.
To speed watch a Netflix documentary that is in parts, watch the first episode, then the last
The inbetween episodes are fillers
Before starting binge watching a drama series, go on line to see if the series is over
This way, you will likely find the last episode actually concludes, not cliff hanging for another season
When a series begins using “jumping the shark” like episodes, you know the series is worn out, but keeps on going
To speed watch theatre quality movies, watch the first few minutes, then the halfway point for a few minutes, then the last ten minutes
Theatre movies are around 90 minutes, so theatres can turn over audiences
