Sorry of being a little lazy this week. We had some unexpected things that we had to attend to. But we are back now and here are this week’s Life Pro Tips.
01. Trying to catch your dog that got out/off its leash?
Try laying down. I’ve never known a dog to shy away from licking someone’s face. After watching someone chase their dog around for 20 minutes (the dog thinking it was a game) someone walked over and laid down. The dog immediately came over to lick his face and he grabbed its collar.
02. Always carry a trash bag in your laptop bag
It takes up almost no space but it will be a life saver during a sudden thunderstorm. Most people carry jackets or rain coats but those usually won’t help to keep your computer/bag dry.
03. Buy tickets from the airlines directly
Never buy air tickets through a travel agency. Always go straight through the airline. If anything goes wrong, and sometimes it will, they will just point their fingers at each other.
ALWAYS search for travel and hotels in incognito mode, because lots of sites use cookies to see what you have searched for earlier and ramps up the price. When you find something you like, open a new tab and go to the company’s page directly.
04. New Earbuds?
Every one has gone through several pairs of earbuds from cheap gas station products to Shure Triple Driver buds. They have basically all broken the same way, which is losing connection from wire to the bud contacts themselves. The best fix for this is a spring from a pen or mechanical pencil and heat shrink tubing. It’s a simple non invasive fix.
05. Don’t put anything valuable in your checked luggage
If it’s worth more than $50 or irreplaceable then you should put it in your carry-on bag(s). Also use cable ties to lock your checked luggage. If someone opens it they can’t reattach it and you will know it has been opened. You can check if something is stolen and report it.
#5 is useless you can open a zip with the Zips tied together all it takes is a pen or something similar

Every time I’ve zip tied my luggage, it arrived with them cut and a TSA note in the bag…
I used to get a love note from TSA 100% of the time I used a regional carrier to Detroit
