    Regarding # 5: that wasn’t the case for my family. However, my husband & I are both physicians; our financial situation was pretty different from most people’s.
    In fact, looking back, marrying hurt us financially.
    Our experience has shown that effort & important work are discouraged; these result in a higher tax rate.
    In fact, our gross take home income has almost doubled since my husband stopped working. We dropped a tax bracket & I was able to claim multiple benefits as a “single mom”.
    *you don’t have to be single to be a “single mom”; You just have to have no man who financially contributes
