Here are 5 things you should know.
1. Being asked to become manager of your team is not a promotion, it’s a career change.
Even though you will remain in the same field of work and with the same people, your new job requires a very different skill set from you while dealing with different problems. Change the strategy at the work to stay longer and more successful.
2. You can freely and legally download the entire Wikipedia database.
Imagine a scenario with prolonged internet outages, such as wars or natural disasters. Having access to Wikipedia(knowledge) in such scenarios could be extremely valuable and very useful.
The full English Wikipedia without images/media is only around 20-30GB, so it can even fit on a flash drive.

3. Stuff to keep in your car (Rest of life edition).
You can save yourself a ton of headaches with a minimal amount of preparation
To add to the list of Stuff to keep in the car as a fellow road warrior:
- JUMPER CABLES: Absolutely number one on the list.
- SPARE TIRE.
- Tire air compressor and pressure gauge.
- $20 bill, cash.
- Pen and paper.
- Duct tape (you’ve no idea how useful this is till you need it and don’t have it)
- First Aid kit including antiseptic wipes
- Gloves (basically a second thicker set of skin to put on whenever you need to do anything like change a tire – you do NOT want those potential little cuts to get infected, believe me)
- Multi-tool (best you can afford – go full-sized with a toolbox if you can)
- Flashlight (as solid and excellent as you can afford, and you can actually find some that effectively replace the multi-tool – especially with a knife in the handle. It should be heavy enough to be a deterrent to violence. There’s a reason police officers carry those huge Mag Lights…)
- Seatbelt cutter and Window smasher.
- Roll of TP + roll of paper towels
- Water.
- Towel.
- Blanket.
- Complete change of clothes including shoes.
4. There is a website where you can actually find out how much medical care will cost at local hospitals before you go. The website is www.finestrahealth.com
The site has a map that says it’s currently available in Boston, NYC, Chicago, San Fran, and LA but it seems to be growing.
5. Not every animal on the street is a stray. Some might have a family at home missing them desperately.
You can help reunite them! If you find a stray animal, please take them to any vet to get scanned for a microchip. If there’s no chip, and you can’t care for them, call your local humane society or ask the vet for more information.
