Here are 5 more things you should know.
1. You can order your drink “for here” at Starbucks and they’ll serve your coffee in a real mug instead of disposable cups.
Starbucks serves all their beverages in single-use disposable cups by default. But if you’re gonna’ be there for a bit, you can order your drink “for here” and they’ll give you a real glass or mug and you’ll avoid using single-use plastic cups.
2. Drowning is most often silent and unnoticeable.
The thrashing and screaming you see in the movies? Usually, doesn’t happen.
When your number one goal is to get some sweet, sweet oxygen, you forget about useless activities like “yelling for help”. Your mouth only resurfaces for a second, and nobody’s wasting that second on communication.
Drowning is often unnoticeable. There may even be three or more people, like a few meters away, and nobody may notice you struggling for your life.
So if you have a child, keep an eye out at all times.
Check out online sources too: A 9-year-old nearly drowned 10 feet from her parents, and she only screamed “Daddy!” after she was rescued by someone else with experience.
3. You can detect fake Amazon sales during the Holidays, by using browser add-ons
Some Amazon sellers jack up the price of their products before the holidays to qualify as being “on sale” during the holidays.
You can use browser add-ons such as Keepa (Firefox) to see price history for products and detect such price changes.
4. If you are a US resident…
Your state may be holding money for your benefit & it’s free for you to search for yourself and claim the funds.
Each state’s escheat laws provide a framework for its comptroller’s office to hold any unclaimed money that is owed to you for your benefit. It’s free to search their databases to see if you’re owed money and free to claim the funds (if any) by simply filling out a form. The database doesn’t reveal how much money is owed (you’ll need to fill out the claim form to find out) but worth a shot!
5. You can listen to YouTube videos while your phone is locked with the Firefox app
You just have to press play after locking your phone or switching apps.
