Christopher Wallace, popularly known as Biggie Smalls or the Notorious BIG, is a hip-hop legend of the 90s. There is no argument that Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur had an intense rivalry that extended beyond music. Tupac represented the West Coast, and Biggie was the leading artist behind the East Coast rappers.

After Tupac’s demise, a report was filed indicating that Biggie Smalls had paid an LA gang, Southside Crips, $1m for the hit on Tupac, and he also provided them with the murder weapon. A member of the Crips gang, Orlando Anderson, was the man who took Tupac’s life.

2. Biggie Smalls Grew Up in an Upper Middle-Class Home

In his tracks, the Notorious B.I.G talks a great deal about poverty and the hustle. On the contrary, he grew up in an upper-middle-class home and probably knew less about lacking than he sang. Unlike Tupac and most of his colleagues, Biggie was a privileged child who attended private school and lived in a three-bedroom house, which is quite different from what Biggie himself described as a “one-room shack.”

3. The Notorious BIG was Shot in the Private Parts

On the night of his tragic night, Christopher Wallace was shot four times in the chest, forearm, leg, and private parts. This was detailed in an autopsy that was released after his demise. Before he became the Notorious B.I.G, Christopher Wallace went by the stage name Biggie Smalls. However, this moniker had already been used in the movie “Let’s Do It Again,” released in 1975 by Calvin Lockhart. When the rapper’s popularity increased, Lockhart went to court, forcing Biggie to change his name to the Notorious B.I.G. Before these two names, Christopher Wallace used the stage name “M.C Quest.”

It narrates Biggie’s crime life and how he rose through the ranks to become one of the top-selling hip-hop artists. One of the most interesting things about this film is that Biggie’s son, CJ Wallace, plays the main character. The rapper also had a daughter called T’yanna Wallace.

7. Biggie Smalls Had an Affair with Lil Kim

In Biggie’s biography, it is mentioned that he only had one wife, Faith Evans. However, their marriage was heavily affected by rumors of Biggie being engaged in extramarital affairs. One of the infamous love triangles involving the rapper and his wife includes the one with another rapper, Lil Kim.

Biggie and Lil Kim had a history from their teen years. She was also part of a group that Biggie had made called the Junior M.A.F.I.A. At some point, Biggie ghostwrote some songs for Lil Kim. In an interview with Wendy Williams, Faith Evans claims that he once caught Biggie with Lil Kim in bed.

9. The Notorious BIG Was Having a Mouth Hug in the Song Ready to Die

10. Biggie Used to Crush on Tupac’s Couch

In the diss track “Hit Em Up” by Tupac, he raps about how he used to let Biggie sleep on his couch. True to these words, Biggie used to crush on Tupac’s couch when he was visiting California. And whenever Tupac was in Biggie’s neighborhood, he would always pass by. That’s how close these two rappers were before an intense rivalry ensued.

11. Biggie Laid Out the Ideal Commandments for Drug Dealers

In the track “Ten Crack Commandments,” the Notorious B.I.G showcases his entrepreneurial skills by highlighting the do’s and don’ts of drug dealing. This is where the famous line “Never get high on your own supply” comes from.
