Oversized plank flooring is redefining how designers and homeowners shape interiors. With stretched profiles and bold wood-look textures, these large-format luxury vinyl planks can visually open rooms, reduce grout lines, and become a striking design element. MSI leads in this movement, offering wide plank options across porcelain tile, engineered hardwood, and luxury vinyl.
The rise of open-concept designs and seamless spatial transitions has elevated extended plank formats into more than a trend—they’re now a foundational tool in modern interiors. Their broader dimensions promote clean, uninterrupted flow, making even compact rooms feel larger. Whether your aesthetic leans toward minimalism, farmhouse, or transitional styles, oversized planks offer versatility in marrying both style and spatial harmony.
Beyond their aesthetic benefits, today’s wide plank floors are engineered for real-world performance. Advancements such as rigid cores, hybrid constructions, waterproofing, and robust wear layers ensure durability and practicality—even in high-traffic zones. MSI also thoughtfully designs many of its wide plank collections to coordinate with other materials in their catalog, simplifying cohesive design across floors, countertops, and accent walls.
Below are six of MSI’s standout oversized plank collections—each designed to harmonize beauty and durability in modern settings:
XL Studio™ Roswell (Luxury Vinyl Planks)
This collection offers a 9″ × 60″ elongated plank format, featuring warm blonde tones and a realistic wood look. Its SPC rigid core makes it waterproof, and it’s protected by a CrystaLux Ultra™ layer for enhanced stain and wear resistance. With a 30 MIL wear layer and a no-acclimation installation process, Roswell is ideal for open areas, basements, or high-traffic family rooms.
McCarran® Milledge (Engineered Hardwood)
For those desiring genuine wood aesthetic, Milledge delivers with planks up to 9.5″ wide and 86″ long. The surface is a true wood finish, protected with CrystaLux Ultra™ for scratch resistance. Its engineered structure adds dimensional stability, making it suitable in varied environments.
Braxton Blanca (Porcelain Wood-Look Tile)
With 10″ × 40″ planks in soft white and dove gray hues, Braxton Blanca mimics wood grain while benefiting from porcelain’s strength and moisture resistance. Its rectified edges allow tighter grout lines for a cleaner look, making it well-suited for transitions ranging from indoors to outdoors.
Belmond Mercury (Wood-Look Ceramic Tile)
Measuring 8″ × 40″, these ceramic planks present deeply textured, aged wood visuals in charcoal-gray tones. Their soft matte finish adds authenticity, and their sturdy ceramic build gives flexibility in uses—from flooring to backsplashes or accent wall features.
Wayne Parc Reserve™ Macland (Luxury Vinyl Planks)
Macland planks span 9″ in width and 72″ in length, featuring rich chestnut tones and a rustic character. Built with a waterproof WPC core, UltraMatte™ finish, and embossed-in-register texture, it also includes cork backing for sound insulation and easy installation.
Shorecliffs™ Sunny Shake (Hybrid Rigid Core Flooring)
Boasting some of the industry’s longest planks at 87″, Sunny Shake uses a hybrid rigid-core construction with soft blonde hues and a low-sheen finish. Its DryLuxe™ core, paired with an AC5-rated wear layer, offers both visual impact and lasting durability. As a waterproof, scratch-resistant option, it suits expansive layouts and open-concept homes.
From cozy kitchens to expansive great rooms, MSI’s wide planks provide a refined base for modern design. These collections showcase how scale, style, and engineering can come together—offering you options that combine visual drama with lasting performance.
