      And also 11 put your iphone on self destruct mode so it erases everythign after a certain number of passcode fails because if the fbi had such a hard time and to shell out so much money to unlock it for a big crime you are very protected

        The police need a warrant to search any personal phone.

    I would say that #3 is the most important, followed by #4 and #8. Remember, the police only care about getting you convicted of a crime. Heck, even prosecutors and judges run their election campaigns on how hard on crime they are. Your defense attorney is your only ally (assuming you’re not stuck with an over-worked public defender who will tell you to plead guilty and hope for a lighter sentence).

    Also remember that police can unlock a phone that has a fingerprint scanner with out a warrant. Because you legally have to give your prints when arrested. But they do need a warrant for a passcode or other security lock.
